Man airlifted after serious quad bike injury in Tarlton

Emergency services rushed to Tarlton on Saturday after a quad bike driver lost control on a gravel road, sustaining serious injuries.

A quad bike driver sustained serious injuries in Tarlton on January 10.

According to Help24 EMS director Quinton Mulder, they secured the scene and assessed the patient, who had multiple traumatic injuries.

He added that the accident occurred after the driver lost control on a gravel road.

He said due to the severity of the injuries and the remote location, a clinical decision was made to activate Rocket Air Ambulance, and the patient was airlifted to Sandton Medical Hospital. Advanced Life Support resources from Netcare911 also assisted on scene.

Through co-ordinated teamwork, Help24 EMS and Netcare911 stabilised and treated the patient using Advanced Life Support treatment.
