Emergency FMD meeting for Krugersdorp

Livestock owners will receive expert advice on prevention and control at a crucial awareness event hosted by Mogale City and the Gauteng Agriculture Department.

As the country battles one of the worst foot and mouth disease outbreaks in its history, local livestock farmers are being urged to attend an urgent information session.

According to Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, the session will be hosted by MCLM in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Livestock farmers are strongly encouraged to attend.

Mahlangu said the session aims to raise awareness about the disease and provide practical guidance on prevention and control measures.

“Farmers will learn directly from experts, receive hands-on guidance and gain the knowledge needed to protect their animals and the wider community,” she said.

The information session will take place on February 19 at Centenary Hall from 10:00 to 12:00.
