Mogale to host inaugural Farmers Day for local agricultural community

The inaugural event aims to connect farmers with knowledge, technology, training and market opportunities.

Farming remains one of the most important sectors in the country, and the Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) is set to host its first Farmers Day event for local farmers on June 30.

According to MCLM assistant manager for media and public relations, Refilwe Mahlangu, the event aims to provide farmers with opportunities to share knowledge, network, learn about new techniques and technologies, and gain access to markets beyond their immediate areas.

The event will begin at 09:00 at Centenary Hall in the CBD. Mahlangu added that the theme will focus on improving access to information to empower young and local farmers.

“By strengthening information channels, smallholder and youth farmers can make better production and marketing decisions, adopt climate-smart practices, increase productivity, and broaden income and market opportunities,” she concluded.
