Ready, steady, snap! Local photographers now have the chance to see their best shots featured in the Krugersdorp News as we launch our new Photo of the Week feature.

The News is inviting photographers from across the community to share the pictures that deserve to be seen. Whether you’re a seasoned professional, an enthusiastic amateur, or simply someone who loves capturing the world through a camera lens, we want to see your work.

Every community has a story to tell, and sometimes the most powerful stories are captured in a single photograph. We’re looking for images that showcase the character, beauty, energy and everyday moments of our local area.

Perhaps you’ve captured a spectacular sunset, a lively street scene, a memorable community event, a striking piece of local architecture, or an unexpected moment that made you stop and reach for your camera.

Your photograph could be featured in an upcoming News article and shared with our readers as we celebrate local talent and creativity.

How to enter

When submitting your photograph, include:

• your name
• where the photograph was taken
• when it was taken
• what you were photographing
• the camera you used

Our first Photo of the Week

For the first Photo of the Week, Dean van der Westhuizen shared some of the photographs he took at the African Aerospace and Defence Show 2026 at the Waterkloof Air Force Base.

Using his Canon 2000D with a 75–300mm lens, Dean captured a C130 Hercules flare dump and an Olifant main battle tank in action.
