Double victory for Curro Krugersdorp in Warriors League

Curro Krugersdorp High School celebrated two championship wins in the Warriors League after their first and U17 teams were victorious in the final.

Curro Krugersdorp High School is thrilled and proud of the exceptional achievements of its first and U17 rugby teams in the highly anticipated Warriors League.

For the second year in a row, their first team emerged as champions in this prestigious sevens tournament, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in school rugby.

The Warriors League, known as the biggest sevens tournament in South Africa for school rugby, attracts teams from various age groups, ranging from U9 to U19. Curro’s first team and U17 team showcased remarkable talent, skill, and resilience throughout the tournament, which led to their victory in the final. They played against top schools on the West Rand such as Trinityhouse Little Falls, La Salle College and Randfontein High School.

“The first team displayed an outstanding level of performance and team spirit. Their strategic play, agility, and cohesive teamwork were instrumental in securing their position as champions in the final,” said Curro Krugersdorp marketer, Amoryn Wright.

Equally deserving of praise are the U17 boys, who demonstrated great team spirit, talent, and determination in the league.

“Their exceptional skills, discipline, and teamwork propelled them to claim the championship title in their respective age category. The team’s victory is a testament to their relentless pursuit of success and their unwavering passion for the sport.”

These victories would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the school’s coaches, teachers, parents, and the wider community. Their encouragement and commitment to nurturing the talents of these young athletes have been pivotal in their success.

“Curro Krugersdorp High School extends its heartfelt appreciation to the coaches who have dedicated their time and expertise to train and mentor these exceptional athletes. Their guidance, strategic planning, and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the teams’ victories, instilling in the players the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and perseverance,” Amoryn added.
