Matric Class of 2024: Top achievers honoured

The West Rand's top matriculants of 2024 honoured at district awards ceremony.

The Sediwes Regional Awards took place recently, and it was a joyful occasion for the Class of 2024 to receive recognition for their hard work and dedication in academics.

The Sediwes Region is formed by three districts namely Gauteng West, Sedibeng East and Sedibeng West.

Nories matriculant Martinique Brits is about to receive her award from Xoli Mkhetwa.

Among the top achievers were matriculants from Mandisa Shiceka School of Specialisation in Kagiso, Hoërskool Noordheuwel and Krugersdorp High School (KHS).

According to Sediwes communication officer Nonkululeko Mbele, the event was sponsored by Vodacom. The award categories included Best Performing Students in the district, Best Performing Schools in various subjects, and Best Performers in various subjects. Other categories included Best Performing District, the Chief Director Special Award, and Best Performing Learner.

She added the awards were not only held to appreciate the effort of the Matric Class of 2024 but to also motivate this year’s matriculants.
