Young equestrians make Curro proud

Three Curro Krugersdorp Primary riders impressed at the SANESA Gauteng Finals with standout performances across multiple equestrian disciplines.

Three talented riders from Curro Krugersdorp Primary School have made their school proud with standout performances at the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA) Gauteng Primary School Finals, held on July 26 and 27 at Eaton Farm.

Before the competition, excitement was high as Kayla Hinrichsen and Kiara Hart (both Grade Seven), along with Amelia du Plessis (Grade Four), prepared to showcase their skills on a provincial stage.

“Their dedication and love for equestrian sport had already made them champions in the eyes of their school community,” said Curro’s marketer, Dibuseng Maboya.

The trio delivered impressive results:

• Amelia competed in two Prix Caprilli classes, placing 19th and 20th – a commendable effort in a technical discipline
• Kayla secured a strong eighth-place finish in show jumping
• Kiara excelled in Dressage, taking second and fourth place in her classes – a standout performance in a competitive field

“These results reflect not only their talent but also their discipline, courage and commitment to the sport. Competing at this level is no small feat, and each rider demonstrated the values of perseverance and sportsmanship,” Dibuseng added.

Curro Krugersdorp’s executive head, Annemarie Lombard, also praised the riders for their efforts and school spirit.

“Their achievements are a testament to the hard work they’ve put in and the passion they bring to every ride. As the dust settles on the SANESA Gauteng Finals, Curro Krugersdorp celebrates these young equestrians who continue to inspire with every stride.”
