KHS hockey girls make their mark among Gauteng’s best
KHS’s U16 hockey girls went unbeaten at the prestigious Pullen and Howell tournaments, flying the West Rand flag high.
KHS’s girls’ hockey team is making significant progress, demonstrating their talent and team spirit in recent matches at the Pullen and Howell hockey tournaments.
The girls played their games at Edenvale High School, where Johannesburg’s top U16 and U18 girls’ hockey teams competed for bragging rights and glory.
According to tournament founder Rob Pullen, top schools such as Hoërskool Waterkloof, Affies and St Stithians girls’ hockey teams were invited. Established in 2006, the tournament continues to grow stronger each year, with 70 teams that competed this year in U18 A, U18 B, and U16 pools.
KHS’s head of marketing, Lauren Jooste Coetsee, added that their U16 girls were the standout performers, winning all their matches.
“We are the only U16 team that made it through from the West Rand. This bodes well for the future of girls’ hockey at the school, as the Howell and Pullen hockey tournaments are among the most prestigious in Gauteng, providing leading hockey schools in the province the opportunity to compete against one another,” Lauren said.
