After 20 years of democracy we, the citizens of South Africa, have a chance to vote again.
I wonder how you will decide who to give your vote to. Are you directed by the events of the past, your experience of the present or your hope for the future?
Do you believe the promises that the politicians make in the public domain?
Are you swayed by a personality to give your vote?
I recently heard someone say during a radio interview that religion and politics should not mix. After careful thought I realized that it is impossible to separate religion and politics. Religious people have political views and political people have religious beliefs.
So if you are a Christian how should you decide which party to vote for?
As a Christian, I believe that it is my duty to vote and I will vote.
But I truly believe that every one of us should pray before we vote and if you are not sure who to vote for, then read Romans 13:1-7. Read it, pray and then relook at the possible parties before you endorse their manifesto.
Most South Africans believe in God, so allow him to guide you as you exercise your right to vote.
God bless South Africa.
