I wanted to comment about the road that connects Kagiso and Krugersdorp and vice versa. The road, which is aptly called New Road, has become notorious for killing motorists like ants. It has become our Moloto Road. It is that bad.
No month passes by without it claiming a life or lives. But the month of September was the worst. No less than seven people died on that road during that month. Something really needs to be done – I don’t know what, but something that can arrest the situation.
A week or so ago, the Mogale City council fixed street lights in my area. But hardly three days later the lights went off. There is strong suspicion that this is the work of thieves, who do their dirty evil job in darkness. If it’s them, they should be identified and arrested.
I raised my ire about this on my facebook page. My comment on social media touched the heart of a good Samaritan, Davis Manzini, who works at the Speaker’s office. Manzini responded and promised that the lights would be back soon. At least he’ll make sure of that.
True to his words, the street lights were on again in less than two days. In my book, this is service delivery at its best. I wish to thank Mr Manzini for his pro-activeness on the matter. Please rub it onto others, Sir. And keep up the good job.
