I recently had a bad experience with a local worker whom I picked up at an intersection.
I had a small building job to complete and this guy agreed to a wage of R200 for the day.
By approximately 1.30pm his job was completed halfway, so I decided to use him for garden work as well. He was not very keen to do this, and his concern was that I employed him for the day to do building work. As the walls were ready to be plastered I told him to finish the plastering. He simply refused and demanded the R200.
He threatened me with tsotsi’s, and took pictures of my cars’ registration numbers. I was not prepared to spend the night in jail for assaulting him, and gave him his money.
Please take care when using these workers, and make copies of their IDs.
