At the end of October 2014 someone close to me was due for maternity leave.
As per the requirements of the Labour Department, she applied for payments from the department.
After finishing the paperwork she was advised that the payment will be done after she has given birth.
In November she gave birth and went to submit more forms. To her surprise she was informed that “money will be captured in December”.
Now, 14 January, she has not received a single brown cent from the Department of Labour.
My question is why does it take so long for someone to receive maternity payment when submission has been made on time? Who is dragging its feet – the department’s system or its workers?
