I would like to share my experiences when I had to renew my driver’s licence, as I think that praise is not always given where it should be. My husband took me to our local licensing department (we live in Florida).
As we got closer to the entrance, we were bombarded by at least 10 to 12 photographers and parking attendants. I thought there was a riot taking place, they surrounded the car so that we could not even move in any direction.
We finally found a place to park and went into the grounds. There were queues all over the passages, there was no organisation and the situation was almost unbearable. We are seniors and couldn’t see our way clear to joining this total chaos.
We then decided to go to the Krugersdorp Licensing Department.
The absolute contrast to what we had just experienced was amazing. The parking area was so clean, no photographers and parking attendants to chase you around, lovely clean offices, the staff were very helpful as far as giving us the right forms to complete, and directing us to the organised queue where everything went very smoothly, no one pushing and shoving you out of their way.
We finally got attended by Ria Jonker, who went through the whole process with utmost efficiency. She was most professional and very friendly, and it was a real pleasure to be attended to by her. She made up for all the trauma we experienced at the other department.
She is an asset to the Krugersdorp Licensing Department!
