Thankful that criminals did not harm us

Cecilia Sophia Nortier from Krugersdorp writes:

They entered without making any noise. It was about 2am and my two daughters at that time were in the lounge; they fell asleep on the couch after watching movies. My husband and I also were asleep in our bedroom with my baby next to me in her cot.

I woke up and for some reason my eyes weren’t even focused and that’s when I saw this figure next to our bed. I started to scream, in a panic I grabbed my husband by the arm and jumped up, it was as if we paused for a moment in disbelieve.

Two men, one armed with a gun, the other with his torch immediately demanded, “Shut up! Do you want to die? Be quiet, close your eyes and sleep.” My baby started crying and her sisters were waking up.

“God”, I prayed, “Please don’t let them hurt my children.” They got aggressive and demanded me to make them shut up or they will kill them. I couldn’t get up to fetch them or call them closer to be with us. I got so angry and emotional that I loudly said to my kids, “Be still and sleep now,” making it clear to them that mommy was angry. They didn’t even open their eyes and I’m grateful they didn’t know what was going on.

They stole our cellphones, laptop, external hard drive, a few extra things of worth and took all the cash, which was a lot to us, but they left the cards!

They asked my husband where is his credit card and his gun were, which he doesn’t own at all. They threatened to cut his throat if he didn’t tell the truth.

After taking everything we have, they warned us to lay still and if we make a noise or call the cops they will turn around and come kill our kids and burn down our house.

We let them leave in peace because there is nothing worth more than our children’s lives …
