Celebrate Passover not Easter

C Swanepoel from Krugersdorp writes:

I was shocked to read about the manner in which Easter had been celebrated at a primary school.

The symbols of bunnies and eggs are pagan of origin and first introduced by the Babylonians 2 000 years before Christ to celebrate the “resurrection” of Tammuz, son of Ishtar, at the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

It then spread all over the world to celebrate the beginning of new life.

The Southern Hemisphere now has autumn.

Christians should not take part in such pagan practices and allow their innocent children to be part of such deception.

Christians must celebrate Passover and not Easter.

The leaders of the relevant church who organised the event should know better!

There are other fun and more meaningful ways to teach children about the meaning of Passover.
