Little fingers, little toes. Little cute button nose.
I am my mommy’s darling, I am my daddy’s delight. I am so precious, I love and hug with all my might.
Be careful mommy and daddy, oh please do be aware, of the people that you leave me with in their ‘loving’ preschool care. Once you’ve left my tears come out as the shouting starts. No laughter fun or loving as the heartache wells up inside my heart.
While you are at work you certainly do not know, of what goes on with me while you are at work or home. Yes there are cameras but little do you know, they just there for appearance and not for looking, just for show. For no one pays attention to the screen to see all the shouting going on, they are too busy counting your money, its just a business, they don’t care when you are gone.
Yes they have an open-door policy, but would you really leave work to come and check on me, honestly?
Pay attention to the whisper that lingers in your heart, that bad feeling you have inside, you should have listened to from the start.
Do you sit at work and wonder if I am okay? I don’t think you mommy, would be shouting at me all day.
I am threatened and labelled as the day goes on and by, I do my best to be good daddy, I really do try. If I do not be quiet, no snack, no play for me, this is not how you thought they would be taking care of me.
Feeding time is a nightmare, is this what you call childcare? Teachers shouting and banging on pots, I sit here longing for mommy, my tummy tied up in knots.
Please can I have more food I will dare to ask, to be told no by the teachers who fool mommy with their mask.
What a long day, daddy I wish you could fetch me and take me away.
Surely there must be other schools where there is love, kindness and play?
Do not be fooled daddy when I say goodbye, for I am too young and forgiving, I do not question why.
My smile can hide a thousand tears that will leave scars for years and years.
This is your little fingers, this is your little toes, this is your little cute button nose.
