I was wondering, can the municipality’s Traffic Department not be forced to monitor speeding on certain roads?
I drop off and collect my daughter from Laerskool Protearif every day and drive on the R563, which is hectic in the mornings and afternoons.
The speed restriction on this road from Robert Broom Drive, past the Munsieville intersection and right down the N14 is 60km/h!
I stick to this limit for various reasons, most importantly because the law says I must!
Every car passes me at such a high speed it feels like I’m looking for parking!
There already has been a very serious accident in which a young child has lost his life. That also doesn’t seem to be a deterrent, and I see absolute recklessness every single day.
Please Traffic Department, place a few cameras along this road, your income through fines absolutely will skyrocket!
Let’s try and save the lives of the young children, through leading by example.
