I would like to make known publicly my deep appreciation towards Sector 3 CPF for the assistance provided to us just after the hail storm on 9 January.
The hail stacked up on our roof about 30cm high, which caused the roof to leak severely. The amount of water leaking onto the ceilings caused almost all ceilings to collapse, flooding all furniture in the house. We called on the CPF radio for assistance. Within five minutes there were six people on my roof clearing the hail. My neighbour commented that it looked like an avalanche as they were shoveling the hail off the roof. It took these kind folk the best part of an hour to clear the roof, and that under somewhat dangerous conditions.
Were it not for these brave men and women who willingly offer their services to the community, I am afraid the entire roof would have caved in. But clearing the roof of hail was not the end of their assistance.
The following day one of the CPF ladies delivered two hot meals to our house. We wish to thank whoever prepared this, it was like manna from heaven.
Thank you Sector 3. We appreciate the help we got. We are so aware that a simple thank you does not do justice to the work you did. Without you these two elderly people would have been completely lost.
