Viva Marizka, viva!

George Master Push Xolelizwe from Chief Mogale writes:

I remember very well some time in June last year, News journalist Marizka Coetzer and her team put their lives on the line by accepting an invitation to take a tour of a house of horror on Sivewright Street – the drug and prostitution hub of Krugersdorp.

Marizka is a mother, a spouse and above all, a journalist.

But, just there, News readers commented, analised and agreed with one voice that this woman’s journalism career is going to take her far.

When I read the 15 April edition of the News, it was with excitement that I learned she has scooped up The Citizen award.

She deserves it.

I mean, if you are a regular News reader, you will agree with me when I say: Janine Viljoen, the editor of the News, you’ve got an eye for a journalist.

So, I therefore, add my voice in celebration as a community leader and also as the chairperson of Sanco Maki Legwete branch, Ward 11, in congratulating Marizka for winning an award at the 27 Annual Caxton Excellence Awards.

According to the News, Marizka walked away as the winner for being the best contributor.

Go, girl, go! Viva Marizka, viva!
