Condolences to those who lost loved ones

George Xolelizwe from Mogale City writes:

Condolences have poured in for the families of the victims of the tragic bus crash that claimed the lives of 10 people.

The bus was returning to Gauteng from the ANC’s 2016 local government manifesto launch at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth when it rolled several times, throwing several passengers out, and leaving many others trapped beneath it.

The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) Mogale City sub-regional interim committee was among the first organisation to send their condolences to families of the deceased. Sympathies are also extended to those who have been injured and to the ANC as a whole, especially the Gauteng province and Ekurhuleni regional leadership.

Most of the volunteers were ANC Youth League members.

When we visited the families of the deceased to comfort them, hymns echoed through the streets of Katlehong, Ward 63, Ekurhuleni, near the home of one of the victims Gugu Sithole (33), as congregants comforted the bereaved family.

Gugu was the breadwinner in the family. She has three siblings and was a branch executive committee member in Ward 63.

May their souls rest in peace.

The loss of one life is disaster enough. This is a devastation.
