I would like to welcome the new commander of the Krugersdorp Police station, Colonel Pinky Jojisa.
I would like to congratulate her on her words: “This is a totally new experience for me and I am praying for wisdom from God to lead me to clean up Krugersdorp.”
She needs to start by cleaning up the police station from within and then tackle the town itself.
Drug dealers sell their wares publicly and without fear, because they don’t get arrested. They pay bribes to the police, who, although they regularly patrol ‘Little Nigeria’, and are well aware of the drug traffickers operating day and night, don’t arrest any of them. These drug dealers are not South Africans – they’re foreigners.
Prostitution also appears to be ‘legal’ in Sivewright Street, the adjacent street corners, and at robots nearby. I live in Luipaard Street, and experience these things daily.
I wish Colonel Pinky Jojisa good luck. Don’t give up. Fight crime as hard as you can, and pray often.
