Someone might just need them more

Why is it so hard to get rid of old clothing?

We all have them – old clothes. Many will argue that they still play an important role in their lives. Other are simply hanging on to a memory.

Why is it so hard to get rid of old clothing? Is it because we spent our hard-earned cash to buy them? Perhaps it’s a sentimental piece of material given to us by a loved one … maybe its the last evidence of your once fit and trim body.

As hard as it is, why don’t you just give it up?!

Whatever your need for it might be, if you have an old item of clothing in your cupboard, I can guarantee you someone in real need will find much better use for it.

Old clothes are exactly that to you and me – old. Some of us are in the fortunate position where we can buy new items of clothing every couple of months or so … and some (the lucky ones) can do so every week.

Through the Hangers of Hope initiative, persons in need will breathe new life into your ‘old’ clothing.

It’s a simple gesture that can go so far. All you have to do is take them out of your cupboard, put them in a plastic bag and donate them. That’s all! The rest will be done for you!

With winter in full swing and cold air still in the offing, warm clothing can help a lot, even if you feel that it does not really make a difference.

Just remember, if you really want to hang on to that item of clothing, for whatever reason, make sure it’s for the right reason.
