The park is for our enjoyment, do not change it into a dumping site

Johan Marais from Krugersdorp writes:

On 1 September 2016, I observed two instances which made my blood boil.

A man in a white half-ton bakkie, registration number CA4xx 3xx dumped a load of garden refuse in Koedoe Park. Unfortunately I was too late to stop him and he drove off.

Shortly thereafter, two men dragged a wheelie bin full of building rubble into the park and were about to dump it. I asked them not to do so, and they left, but I am sure they just dumped it somewhere else where I couldn’t see them. I’m also sure they were from one of the nearby properties as the bin was very heavy.

What type of person dumps his rubble in a public space? Koedoe Park is there for everyone to enjoy, why make it a dumping site? Krugersdorp has a dumping site and anyone can dump rubble or garden refuse there and (I think) the first 500kg can be dumped free of charge. The municipality does not clean the park – it only cuts the grass.

Please people, the park is for our enjoyment – do not change it into a dumping site.
