In response to Mr Mange’s BEE letter

Leogirl from Krugersdorp writes:

Dear me. Sorry, but I must nitpick.

BEE supports 80,2 per cent of the South African population. The rest are: white 8,4 per cent, Indian/ Asians 2,5 per cent, coloureds 8,8 per cent and other 0,5 per cent. Currently, the only ones benefitting are in the 80,2 per cent group.

While unemployment is high, non-Africans can’t get jobs due to being non-African. It’s the truth. We are the only country in the world that gives people jobs because of skin colour and not qualifications.

All the qualified individuals are leaving the country so they can get jobs elsewhere. Why? Because we can’t get them here due to discrimination that is disguised as BEE.

In 2015, 20,6 per cent of the black students passed matric. Overall, SA’s pass rate was 70,7 per cent. Added, with any protest about education, the schools/ universities get destroyed. Where is the value in education? The money that would go to “free education” is now helping to fix what’s broken. Where is the intelligence shown by the protesters?

Steve Biko would be rolling in his grave, but not because Africans have no confidence to do things, but because the Africans of today expect to have everything for free.

If you want something, you work damn hard to get it. Work to receive. Not, protest to receive.

Summary: If BEE is to work, it must be worked for. Study, get the grades to get the qualification to get what BEE offers.

The country is ruined because of how the unqualified get what they didn’t work for and don’t deserve. Earn it. Because no-one simply deserves it for free.
