Some more tips for Mayor Pannall

Anonymous from Krugersdorp writes:

I read the letter suggesting a tips column to Mayor Lynn Pannell with interest and wish to add my ‘tips’, which are:

1. Robert Broom Drive is only being widened from Van Oord Street to near Hoffnaar Street. When will Robert Broom be widened all the way to Amaryllis Drive, as the biggest back-up of traffic occurs from Lud Hersch Drive right up to Amaryllis Drive? A new Curro School is opening just next door to the new shopping centre, so imagine the increase in traffic from that school going towards Rangeview and Roodepoort.

2. Then on the corner of Swanevelder Road and Robert Broom Drive we have a traffic debacle happening every morning. There is an existing Curro School behind the shopping centre, and parents drop off their children for school at about 7am. They try to get in and out of the shopping centre onto Robert Broom Drive, while other parents from Rangeview and surrounds cross over Robert Broom Drive from Norden Road, and go up Swanevelder Road to Hoërskool Noordheuwel. This results in a traffic back-up all the way from Swanevelder Road and Robert Broom Drive to Amaryllis Drive. We also have all the people from Rangeview entering Robert Broom from Bell Drive in the mornings, and it’s chaos.

There is more than enough space along Robert Broom Drive to widen it all the way up to Amaryllis Drive.
