I have lived proudly in Krugersdorp since 2000. During this time friends who visited have all commented on how clean the town is and how the grass is always kept short in the parks, the sidewalks and islands in the roads.
Unfortunately this is no longer the case. Weeds are taller than the average person, the grass is long everywhere and worst of all the park in front of the children’s home, The Bethany House Trust is a disgrace. The grass is so long the caregivers could not even let the children play there during the festive season.
The Executive Mayor, the councillors and municipal managers should all hang their heads in shame for the poor service delivery at present.
As far as I’m concerned if they all halved their salaries they would still be hugely over-payed. It is time these councillors stop bickering and start working together to make Krugersdorp the best town in the area, or do they prefer to live in a jungle where weeds take over? If the latter is the case it is time the residents stop paying rates and taxes and then we will see how long they can all live in the lap of luxury they have become accustomed to.
For a person who does not care about children’s play area, not to mention their being under-privileged children, should not have been elected into a position where they can decide on how to run our town.
Hopefully someone in the council with some backbone will read my letter and start taking action.
