I have been a car guard for just over six years now at a small complex. I’m the only one here. All I want to say is that I feel attacked by people like Helgardt Oelofse for doing my job well. I have stopped a number of near robberies from happening which includes cars and bike thefts in this small complex while putting my life at risk daily for someone who feels that I am scum and useless.
Well let me tell you … I have looked for a job after coming to Gauteng and really went from being employed in a management position to cleaning someone’s home for R900 pm to guarding cars.
Yes, I understand your point … why tip car guards? Not all of us are nowhere to be seen … some of us do our jobs well and with pride. Please don’t judge us all at the same time. I thank those who tip me well and those who treat me with respect. I have pride in my job.
