Why should we support them?

Loreece Naudé from Krugersdorp writes:

I struggle to see the need to support these blokes at the traffic lights or even the families in the squatter camps.

Facts are, if they all start picking up plastic, paper or cans, or ask to clean gardens and clean houses, they can build people’s trust.

But they have too much pride to become a domestic or gardener worker, it’s easier to make up some bull twang story of why you don’t want to work.

I believe they choose to make their lazy problem our problem – their lame burden ours. Society should just ignore them. How stupid are we? If 100 motorists each give between R2 or R5 they make more money than some of us per day, by doing what? Nothing!

They only stand there and look pathetic.

I will not ever go back to making my problem other people’s problem. My husband and I both do odd jobs and collect recycled items to put food on the table, what excuse do they have?
