I don’t usually comment on any articles I read in the newspapers.
However, after reading the article on the attempted murder of a Mrs Van Dyk by a Mr Mans, I feel I have to say I am absolutely horrified and disgusted that this man was given a sentence of only two years’ house arrest.
Bill Cosby (81-years-old) was given a three- to 10-year sentence and Bob Hewitt (78 years) was sentenced to six years – both convicted of sexual offences.
I cannot believe that a man who has pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder gets away with such a light sentence – regardless of age and circumstance.
A lot of us had difficult childhoods but this certainly hasn’t resulted in an attempt to commit murder!
