Another letter about the dreaded driver’s licence renewal!
Trying to book a slot online in Krugersdorp was hopeless but I managed to get an 11.15am slot in Roodepoort. The booking confirmation advised to arrive an hour early so I was there at 10am and was on my way home at 10.30am.
Some advice: although the confirmation doesn’t list an ID photo as a requirement, it was the first thing I was asked for.
It definitely saves time to have an eye test certificate from an optician.
No one took any notice of the day or time on my booking confirmation.
It also helps to have grey hair. I was ushered to a private office to pay the R228 required and left those who had been in front of me earlier, waiting in a long queue to pay theirs.
