For the past five years we have lodged numerous complaints and tried to lay charges against the vagrants in Krugersdorp North.
The community of Krugersdorp North and Krugersdorp in general has made numerous attempts and even met with various top-ranking officials from both the police, Mogale City’s Public Safety as well as various political parties on the failure to remove vagrants from the sidewalks in Krugersdorp North.
We have engaged and lodged a complaint with the West Rand Area Commissioner’s office, and Kagiso Police Station’s Visible Policing unit was tasked to investigate and address this complaint.
So far a few removals have been executed, but the problem persists. These vagrants are using and dealing in drugs openly, and also expose themselves and masturbate in the presence of the school kids in the area (there are six schools in a 2km radius of the 4th Street vagrant-druggie hot spot).
Syringes and other drug paraphernalia are often found in the area and these pose a great danger to the children of the area.
I am writing this to beg of you to please take sustained and decisive action against this threat in our neighbourhoods and schools in Krugersdorp.
Our women and children are being molested and the ever-increasing drug trafficking and dealing are done in such plain view that I stand amazed at the police not taking any notice or action.
Petty and major crimes are increasing in our area, and property value in the area is impacted directly.
If they are confronted, they threaten to rape our wives and children – we can not live in fear of this!
