In reference to your editor’s note Time for sulking is over – I think this is improper and inappropriate to say as you were only expressing the truth, and one does not apologise for speaking the truth!
In fact your heading should have read Time to take action. Reading these comments on Krugersdorp town, you put it very ‘mildly’ in my opinion. In fact, you did not elaborate enough on the state of this disgusting and dilapidated town and all of it. You should have paid a visit to the derelict Town Hall as well and taken more time to drive up and down the back streets, which are more of an eye-opener!
Furthermore, you were not sulking but being honest; Krugersdorp town is a total and absolute disaster and that is putting it very mildly. There is certainly no good to be found in this disgusting, filthy town.
What gets me, or should I say astounds me, is that no political party has said, or actually done anything about it; but then again, they are not interested in really cleaning up this town, only in persuading us to vote for them when voting time comes around, and nothing else! The councillors of Mogale are not working for the citizens of this town either, but for themselves alone as no help is forthcoming from them.
I cannot see you promising to focus on the good of this town! Don’t do it just to say something positive.
How do things get done in government, and why do we have opposition parties? [They want us to be] praising them or saying how wonderful they are! Definitely not, as that is not how it works. It only works when we put pressure on them, protest, demand answers, and hold them accountable and not caving in like you suggest! This town has certainly gone from bad to worse to rotten!
