Thank you for nothing

Mogale City was on a so-called go-slow strike.

My experience is that they were on a full illegal strike. Since when may people who are supposed to deliver essential services be on strike?

We have been without electricity for four days. When one phones the municipality you are told that your complaint will not be attended to, because “we are on strike”.

We have appealed to the councillor for Infrastructure for assistance, but to no avail. There is nobody at the municipal offices to assist. We have been given cellphone numbers of people who are supposedly on duty to assist people with emergencies regarding electricity. The phones go to voicemail, nobody answers, nobody returns your calls.

There is nobody to assist citizens of the municipality who are expected to pay with their hard-earned pension for services not being delivered so that the municipal workers who are on strike can be paid for not doing their jobs.

Thank you Mogale City for nothing.
