Celebrate life

Life is a gift from God, good health, a true treasure. Why not celebrate your life today by giving thanks to God for it.

• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:

In regards of Covid, I meet two types of people. Those who don’t know anyone who has contracted the virus and have died from it. In fact, some people may have contracted the virus and had very mild symptoms. “What’s the fuss,” they say.

The other group don’t only know a person that has suffered indescribable complications but they have lost a close friend or family member through Covid.

A very good doctor friend who contracted the virus and spent time in hospital sent me the following message, “When I get out of this, I want to celebrate life.”

I don’t know how you have been affected by this pandemic but maybe my friend’s message has meaning in your situation. “Celebrate life”.

Life is a gift from God, good health, a true treasure. Why not celebrate your life today by giving thanks to God for it.

Count the stars, smell the roses and drink in the touch of a loved one. Say, “I love you”, smile, laugh and cry from your heart.

We don’t know what tomorrow holds or even if we will have a tomorrow. But you have today, celebrate it.

“Count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”

Be a blessing by being a ray of light in someone’s dark day.

P.S. “Your attitude will determine your altitude.”
