LETTER: Do you have a dream?

God gave us the ability to dream and the power to make dreams come true. Do you have a dream? – Local pastor.

• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:

Putting things off, waiting for the right time have stopped many people from making their dreams a reality. Dreaming is so important but without action there are no results. Dream, plan, prepare, but don’t take your dreams to your grave. We like to say, “All talk and no action”.

Do you have a dream?

A few weeks ago, millions of people watched Djokovic win his seventh Wimbledon title and with it his 21st grand slam. What an achievement. In his speech at the end of the match, he told how he had, as a boy, watched Wimbledon on TV. He was so excited, he asked his parents to buy him a tennis racquet. Years of blood, sweat and tears, but now he looks back at what was only a dream. But a dream that led to action.

I know what you are thinking. Many kids had the same dream and it never materialised. You are right. But my dad said this to me, “Dream lots of dreams and if they don’t become reality, you have had the fun of dreaming them.”

Walt Disney once said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”.

God gave us the ability to dream and the power to make dreams come true. Do you have a dream?
