Are you stressed? Like many of you, my quick response is, no.
But stress is known as the silent killer. Many of us are not aware of our stress levels and the effects it has on us. It is interesting that the number one cause of stress is financial worries. Often worries about things we cannot control. Things that may never materialise.
Then I read about the FIVE top sources of stress.
1) Death of a loved one.
2) Divorce.
3) Moving home.
4) A major illness.
5) Job loss.
As a Pastor, this caught my attention. Many people I know have recently experienced at least one of the five above. But then, as I put the puzzle together, I realised that some people have experienced more than one of the above. Lost a loved one, got divorced, moved home, experienced illness and lost their job.
Imagine all that in one person’s life. For me it is truly unimaginable. The true heroes in my world are people who have faced these things and didn’t give up and kept smiling.
Many that I have spoken to that have survived, said the same thing. God and family brought them through it.
Today I salute the true heroes. People that don’t just survive but thrive through it all.
