• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:
To stay alive, we need food and water. But to live, we need more than food and water, we need quiet, time and space.
Many of us have an overabundance of food, we waste so much food. We are blessed with water in our taps. But truth be told, many of us don’t have quiet, time or space.
Quiet does not happen, you have to plan it. Turn off the noise, step away from the rush. For the soul, quiet is essential.
It is the Good Book that says, “Be still and know that I am God.” When last did you experience 30 minutes of quiet? A 21st century mantra is
“Time is money”. But the truth is, time is more valuable than money. All the money in the world cannot buy time.
Space! The great outdoors offers us a chance to catch our breath. Isn’t it sad that so many people live but don’t enjoy life.
Don’t blame your family, your work or the devil. We all have the power to arrange quiet times, reflective moments and space.
You don’t need loads of these three. A few minutes of quiet, regular times to just be and space is within your powers. The Bible says, “Go into your room and close the door.” Just 10 minutes a day could change your life.
P.S Some people die, never having lived.
