I am speaking on behalf of a lot of residents from Harry and Adolph Schneider Streets close to a state hospital.

We have had electricity problems for the past three weeks and have complained by every known Mogale City contact number/ email/ district manager/ ward councillors – no one seems to care or seem to want to help us resolve this.

We are currently getting between 135 volts and a maximum of 180 volts. Many residents have lost fridges, microwaves, and television sets because of the low voltage we are receiving.

We even contacted the mayor about this to no avail. We would like to state the number of unnecessary expenses we had to undergo thus far because of the incompetence of the municipality to fix our electricity problem.

We are losing appliances and cannot make food at night.

The News has approached MCLM for comment on the matter who acknowledged receipt saying, “We are liaising with colleagues in the relevant department to give a response” — Ed.
