LETTER: I had a dream … of a better K’dp

A resident writes about a very realistic dream, only to have it crushed by the reality he lives in.

• Chris Schoonwinkel writes:

Last night, I had a dream.

In my dream, I heard the sounds of trains coming into and leaving from Krugersdorp station. I dreamt about a Krugersdorp where traffic lights were still working, roads where potholes were repaired and lines all painted, a working sewage plant, visible road signs and street names. In my dream the town was clean with no rubbish lying around, the grass was cut and the flower beds tended to.

Then, unfortunately, I woke up and I could almost believe that I could smell sewage. I looked around me and saw the decay everywhere and I wondered what had happened to our once beautiful town.

Then I remembered the reality and I couldn’t help but feel sad.
