It was just the boys allowed on the bowling field during Noordheuwel Bowling Club’s first All Men’s Day.
Jan Jacbosz, president of the club, told the NEWS that the men of the club decided to host an All Men’s Day because “if the women can do it, so can the men”.
Altogther 16 teams from across the West Rand took part in this fun day of club bowling.
On the day, the Ruimsig Bowling Club team walked away as winners. Leading them was their skip Herby Fox.
Even though this was a friendly event, there still were prizes awarded to the players.
Jan mentions that they awarded players with expensive hosepipes and sprinklers, champagne and glasses, whiskey and restaurant vouchers.
Afterwards, the all men’s event turned into a couples affair as they enjoyed a spitbraai with their significant others who came to support the men on the field.
