VIDEO: Third national drag racing event on Youth Day

Biker fans will be spoilt with most of the country’s quickest and fastest street and drag bikes battling it out to gain maximum points for the day.

Race enthusiasts can prepare themselves for an explosive day of action-packed racing as Tarlton International Raceway’s calendar reaches the halfway mark of the 2014 SA National Drag Racing Championship with Round 3.

Spectators will be guaranteed some awesome competition runs among some of the fastest drag car competitors in South Africa.

Bringing everything to the fight will be Gavin Wilkins (SpeedNSound/SpeedPro/SKF Mustang) to keep his championship points lead over the rest of the SKF Senior Eliminator arsenal. Chasing the points leader will be multiple SA National Champion Nico van Rensburg in his Supercharged Ford Thunderbird.

Street Eliminator will have two brackets racing on the day: Super Street with a race bracket of 11,00 to 14,00 seconds will see drivers such as Ugan Naidoo (VW Golf), Chris Foley (Corolla), Henk Bannink (Audi), Dino Singh (VW Golf) and lady racer Genevieve Geddes (Nissan) while in Modified Street, which has a race bracket of 13,50 to 17,00 seconds, will see lady racers such as Elise Havenga (BMW), Ester Cloete (VW Golf) and Nasjki van den Berg (BMW) fighting it out alongside the male drivers such as Johann Henning (Toyota), Hennie van Rensburg (VW Golf), Francois Weydeman (VW Golf), Jannie Weydeman (Nissan) and Bokkie Maartins (VW Golf) to name but a few.

Joining in the Exhibition fun will be Marius Coetzee in the Leyland Matador, 12litre Twin Turbo V8 Drag Truck.

Tickets are on sale at the main gate on the day at R100 for adults and R50 for children.
