Traditional karate, with the emphasis on self-defence, is taught by qualified instructors.
The Traditional Karate Centre cleaned up the medals table when they recently took part in a karate challenge in Pretoria.
Under the watchful eye of sensei Marcel Hugli, a sixth dan, his karateka (from the little ones to the experienced older ones) did exceptionally well, all in preparation for the upcoming Funakoshi Nationals.
Traditional karate, with the emphasis on self-defence, is taught by qualified instructors at the dojo in Rissik Street, Krugersdorp.
“You can start training at any time and age as self-defence is paramount, and there’s nothing wrong with winning a few medals on the journey,” says Hugli.
