With the cricket season almost finished it is time to turn to the winter sports at Caxton Khosa Sports Club.
With hockey and rugby seasons around the corner practice has started but new players are most welcome.
Senior hockey:
The senior hockey men have been promo-ted to Premier League and will be coached by Graham Hawkins and assisted by Mark Ray.
The women who have won their league two years in a row and are now in Reserve League will be coached again by Keith Dauncey and assisted by Darren Cresswell. Practice during February will be at the Krugersdorp High School Astro on a Thursday night from 7pm to 9.15pm. From March practice will be twice a week; on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Fitness sessions at Khosa takes place on a Monday and Wednesday at R20 per session.

Junior hockey:
Mini hockey caters for ages from under five through to under 13, boys and girls. Practices are held at the Khosa Club on Saturday mor-nings from 8.30am to 10.30am.
Registration will take place on 14 and 21 March at the main clubhouse. First practice will be on 28 March. A fun-filled busy sche-dule is planned for the new season. Junior hockey registration for under 15 and under 17 boys and girls alike will take place on the same dates. For further details contact vice-chairperson Karen Smit on 082 402 0083.
Rugby:
Practice is on a Tuesday and Thursday at Krugersdorp High School at 7pm, senior rugby chairperson is Richard de Villiers on 072 868 5802, vice-chairperson is John Smit on 083 304 0196 and head coach is Rudy Schutte on 082 527 9862. Matches are played on Saturday afternoons.
Junior rugby:
Khosa’s focus is purely the development of their young players to enhance their skills and make a valuable contribution to their respective school sides. School activities always will take preference over any club activity.
The yearly Interprovincial Club Tournament will take place in Gauteng this year, which will provide some players a further opportunity to play representative rugby.
The cost for registration is R750 per player for the year, which will include their own rugby jersey and shorts.
Monthly payments can be arranged for registration payment.
