Khosa Club cricketers prepare for new season
The Khosa Sports Club Caxton Cricket is looking for new members. Go on, you know you want to.
Caxton Khosa Cricketers are calling on all senior bowlers, batters, fielders and all-rounders to join the club for the new season.
“The new season is around the corner, and we are calling on all senior cricketers who would like to come and join us for the 2015/2016 season,” Quwin Rankin, a member of the club, said.
The first open training day will be held this Sunday 6 September at 9am at Khosa Sports Club in Kenmare.
At the moment, the club has two Saturday and five Sunday teams playing in Gauteng leagues.
“Our Sunday first side plays in the Premier league.”
The club has a proud history of youth development and over the years they have had players selected to represent many South African teams. Clive Eksteen, who captained their first side prior to retirement, also played for South Africa.
So, if you are ready to show off your cricket skills, or you just want to enjoy the game, the first training session will provide you with the information you might need.
Or you can contact the cricket chairperson, Doug Poole at dpoole@icon.co.za or visit the Caxton Khosa Cricket’s Facebook page.
“We hope to see a lot of new faces at the first training so we can make the 2015/2016 season our best ever.”
