Arsenal Masters master local games
Arsenal Masters beat four teams to become the champions of the inaugural Oupa Malefo games.
Arsenal Masters Football Club from Kagiso beat four teams to be crowned the champions of the first ever Oupa Malefo Games.
Aptly named, they mastered the football pitch as they beat runners-up Masterminds by one goal on Saturday, 16 July. The play-off consisted of seven games, with five soccer teams from different parts of Kagiso and Munsieville in Krugersdorp, Roodepoort, Soweto, and Mohlakeng in Randfontein faced off against each other to determine who would be the last men standing.
Arsenal Masters played a great game, as they were fast on their feet, energetic and had a big enough squad to be able to rotate players, and take the prize home.
The team came prepared as they made sure to score a goal against each team they played with in every round of the tournament.
Starting the day off by thrashing Razzmatazz Soccer Club 4–0 it was clear to see that they had victory on their minds and they proved that by winning their final game 1–0.
Participating teams vowed to return to the next installment of the tournament to avenge themselves or defend their titles.
