[PICS] Wrestlers battle it out

The Primal Arm-wrestling Club hosted its first competition last weekend.

The Primal Arm-wrestling Club hosted its first competition at Cedar Lodge on Saturday 30 July.

The club hosted seven events, namely the Juniors best out of five, Ladies, Over 100s and Under 100s. Each category was then further divided into left- and right-handed contenders. This was a best out of three double elimination that showed the endurance of the contenders, as there were no rests allowed between matches.

The winners of the Junior Left and Right respectively were Steven Smith and Cornel Swanepoel. The Ladies winner was Tersia Fourie.

In the Over 100s Left, the winner was Okkie Fourie, while Charles Malan took the Over 100s Right. The Under 100s Left winner was Leudwig Schnettler; his counterpart in the Under 100s Right being Ryno Oosthuizen.

The Polokwane Links Club also used this opportunity to host their Lynx Championship, where Anton Jonker won the Lynx belt in a round-robin event.
