Hippity-Hoppity-Bop to Croatia

According to Shelly Turner, one of the studio partners, this talented team has been selected to participate in various categories including modern, tap, ballet, hip-hop and musical theatre.

Recently 11 extremely talented young dancers hip-hopped, twirled and leaped their way to qualifying for the DanceStar World Finals in Croatia in May next year.

For countless hours these Turning Point Studio dancers have trained towards their dream of representing their country on an international level.

According to Shelly Turner, one of the studio partners, this talented team has been selected to participate in various categories including modern, tap, ballet, hip-hop and musical theatre. They will also be competing in smaller groups and do a few solos.

“They have worked extremely hard for this. They really put their hearts and souls into every training session and have gone above and beyond to test their limits,” she said.

One of their most recent achievements includes obtaining first place in their section at the Roodepoort Dance Festival earlier this year.

However, Shelly added, these girls are still looking for any type of sponsorship that will help make their dream come true.

“Any kind of contribution towards their trip will do. They have trained for so many hours – almost every day of the week. We are appealing to anyone who can help because the dancers are truly passionate about what they are doing,” she said.
