Khosa breeding rugby enthusiasts
They were encouraged to play with their hearts and souls, but also to be good sportsmen and show discipline.
Khosa Junior Rugby hosted a Rugby Skills Development Clinic at Krugersdorp High School recently and invited players from within and all around Krugersdorp to participate.
The club’s junior rugby players enjoyed spending training time with other players from outside the club. The clinic showed enthusiasm and spirit for the development of rugby among all.
Ettienne Kok, Dawie Nel and Garry Crooks delivered on their promise of teaching the enthusiastic players. The junior rugby players walked away with plenty of smiles, well-practised skills, confidence and most of all love for the game. The Khosa coaches made sure the boys understood the concept of cameraderie. They were encouraged to play with their hearts and souls, but also to be good sportsmen and show discipline.
To end the session off, the boys received a special pizza delivery.
Quinton Snyman, the chairperson of Khosa Club was delighted with the way the clinic facilitators, organisers, parents and players pulled together to ensure a successful and eventful clinic.
“The aim was to ensure skills development among the players and to enhance the abilities of each player on the field so that they can achieve their full potential at school or club level. The purpose of the clinic was not just to create numbers on a spreadsheet, but to create mass participation and to ensure that skills development, fun and enjoyment stay the aim of the game. Making a difference is what counts.”
