The top boxers coached by Dida Dipheko are expected to compete at the tournament. During a training session attended by the Northsider, Dida had this to say about his boxers: “In terms of preparations, we are now taking it easy, we’ve worked very hard – we’ve sparred enough and we’re just maintaining our fitness, but overall all my boxers are going to win because we are the winning team”.

From Dida’s camp, Frank Rodrigues will fight for a South African title against Khayeni Hlongwana who is currently rated #3; Fernando Rodrigues will fight for first position in the middleweight position; Thato Bonokoane will have his eyes on the IBF All Africa title; Prince Dlomo will challenge Thompson Mokwana for the SA Champion’s title, and Malcolm Klaasen and Linda Ntshingila will battle it out against international fighters from Malawi and Tanzania, respectively.
