Motocross champs have some fun in the mud

Dirt Bronco hosted the sixth round of the Inland Motocross club series, and all the crowd favourites performed extremely well.

Dirt Bronco once again played host to the Inland Motocross Championship and all the crowd favourites did extremely well in the races.

But, while some had great races in Round 6 of the Championship, some had a more difficult time.

Tyrel Smith raced in the MX 50 junior A race and said that it was the “toughest day of my race career”.

Logan Lloyd and Calvin Knight each got 50 points, making them leaders of the pack in this race with most of the rest of the riders in this category following behind them with 44 points.

In the second leg of the younger categories – MX 50 B/ seniors – Damien Venter, Sylas Karastamatis, Christian Berrington Smith, Joshua van der Walt, and Casey Lloyd all finished with 47 points, with the closest after them having 8 points less.

Jessica Osner made her dad extremely proud when she raced against 16 boys in the MX 65 category.

Although Jessica did very well, it was Joshua Williams who came first, Lucas Venter was second, and Nathan Kuhn came in third.

The MX 85 category race saw Nate McLellan finishing first, Lucas Venter second and Tyler Tarantino third.

Ricky Raaff, Miguel de Waal, and Dylan Mostert all had 50 points overall in the MX1/ MX2/ 125cc category race.

The 16-year-old Kayla Raaff triumphed in the Support/ Ladies category with 50 points, three ahead of Adriano Catalano and Decon Goosen who came second and eight points ahead of Tiegan Reed who is also a crowd favourite.

Kayla Williams, who also participated in this category, celebrated her birthday, and a seventh place overall.

The MX veterans and masters also put on a great show with Leonard Peterson finishing first, Shaun Lloyd and Carlie Stebbing second, and close behind them, Jonathan du Plooy in third place.

Round 7 of this series will take place on 16 September at Smoking Pistons Motocross track.

Also, don’t miss the Vintage Motocross races taking place at Dirt Bronco on 27 October.
